Sneyd Striders Running Club
Club Rules
1. Name
The
club is to be known as Sneyd Striders Running Club.
2. Aim
The
aim of the club is to promote the sport of running.
3. Meeting Place
a)
The club is based at : Sneyd Community
School
Bloxwich
West
Midlands
WS3
2LU
b)
The club meets at 7.15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
4.
Colours
a) The club colours are navy blue, yellow and white.
b) The club
vest and shorts are navy blue with white/yellow side panel.
5.
Membership
a) Prospective members
are asked to complete an application form.
b) Applicants are to
provide details of their full name, address and telephone number and date of
birth.
c) Club members will
undertake to follow Club Rules.
d) Upon joining each new
member will be issued with a membership card.
e) Second claim runners
are accepted as members.
6.
Committee
a) The club will be run
by an elected committee which will serve for a one year period.
b) This will comprise:
Chairman
General
Secretary
Treasurer
Club
Captain
Vice
Captain
Ladies
Captain/ Race Secretary
Cross
Country Captain
Promotions
and Publicity Officer
Events
Secretary
c) Members may be
re-elected onto the committee.
7.
A.G.M.
a) The Annual General
Meeting shall be held on the first Tuesday in February each year.
b) The A.G.M. shall mark
the beginning and end of the club year.
c) The committee shall be
elected at this meeting.
d) Self nominations are
acceptable.
e) All nominees must be
club members.
f) Nominations must be
seconded by a fellow club member.
g) Only paid up members
may vote.
8.
Subscriptions
a) The amount of the
annual subscription shall be set at the A.G.M.
b) New members joining
mid year will be charged one twelfth of the annual subscription for each
remaining month.
c) New members will be
allowed a settling in period before being required to join the club.
d) Second claim runners
shall pay the full annual subscription.
9.
Resignation
a) Any member wishing to
resign shall do so in writing.
b) No refunds of club
subscription shall be made to members resigning the club.
c) A member resigning from
the club shall forfeit all interest in and claim upon club funds and property.
10.
Safety
a) All members must
acquaint themselves with the hazards of road running.
b) Members should
consider the safety of fellow runners and others such as pedestrians and
motorists.
c) The club cannot be
held responsible for personal injury or loss of property which occurs during
the course of training or whilst taking part
in any event organised by the club.
e) The club will
endeavour to maintain its affiliation to the MCAA in order that members may be
insured when taking part in races held under BAF rules and for which a permit
has been obtained. The club can bear no responsibility for members taking part
in events not falling under BAF rules or for which a permit has not been
obtained. It is the members own responsibility to ensure that they are covered
by insurance for any races they enter.
11.
Competition
a) Members shall declare
their membership of Sneyd Striders Running Club when completing race entry
forms.
b) Members are requested
to wear club colours for all competitions and races.
c)
Club colours must be worn for team events.
d)
Members are required to wear club vests for any event which forms part of the
Grand Prix series and for any event for which a club trophy is presented.
Failure to wear a club vest will result in the member being ineligible for the
trophy concerned. In the case of the Grand Prix the times recorded by members
not wearing club vests in a Grand Prix event will not be counted towards their
final total in the Grand Prix. Members running for an official charity may be
exempted from this rule by prior agreement with the committee.
e) Only members with
fully paid up subscription on the 1st April in the year for which
trophies are awarded will be eligible for club trophies.
f)
Members are required to follow British Athletic Federation rules and
regulations.
g) Members of Sneyd
Striders Running Club will not be allowed to enter any race organised by Sneyd
Striders Running Club.
12.
Club Championships
a) The Club Championships
will be held annually.
b) Trophies will be

c) Club Member of the
Year
This
is a trophy to be awarded to an athlete for special achievements accomplished
during the year. The recipient of the trophy will be decided by a ballot of
club members.
13.
Dissolution
The club shall not be dissolved except by
a majority vote of three quarters of the membership.
14.
Club London Marathon Place
To be eligible to take part
in the draw for the guaranteed entry awarded to the club by the London Marathon
members must have fully paid their membership fees by the end of July in the
year preceding that in which the marathon takes place and have been a
member for a minimum of 12 months before the date of the draw.
